The residual current circuit breaker DFS 4 EV was specially developed for use in charging stations and  wall boxes for charging electric vehicles.

It comes into play when an upstream residual current protective device of the charging station or the wallbox is unknown or an RCD of the type AC, A or F.

The role of the DFS 4 EV is to provide the necessary protection against dangerous body fault currents at each individual charging socket. 

It also protects an upstream residual current device against the risk of non-tripping in the case of DC residual currents, eg. caused by the charging technology.
